Starting the day with warm water and honey is supposed to aid weight loss, enhance digestion, prevent colds, and protect us from allergies. It also strengthens our immune system.

Honey, in fact, is high in antioxidants and can be used as a sugar substitute. Calcium, iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, potassium, and zinc are also present. According to a Hindustan Times report, Ayurvedic methods advise against heating honey or mixing it with hot or warm liquids like tea, milk, or water.

According to the article, heated honey might cause health problems by increasing toxins in our bodies.

Honey has been utilised for both sustenance and medicine since prehistoric times. It contains chemicals and nutrients that are beneficial to one’s health. Honey is also a healthy substitute for refined sugar, which is made up entirely of empty calories.

Honey is seen to be a healthy alternative to processed sugar and is deemed safe for diabetics. Besides Calcium, iron, magnesium, copper, manganese, potassium, and zinc are all abundant in it.

While honey is commonly used with herbal tea, lemon tea, or a glass of warm milk, Ayurveda advises against using honey in any heated form.

Heated honey should not be consumed directly or in combination with warm milk, warm water, warm lemon water, or tea “Warm honey, according to Ayurveda, is a gradual poison that develops “ama” or toxicity in the body, and its qualities change to poisonous once inside. Ama is a syndrome in which the body’s mucus and toxin levels rise, resulting in a variety of ailments.”

Caraka refers to this as samskara virudha, or incompatibility created by processing (samskara).

For nutritional purposes, honey should be ingested in its original, raw form, as pasteurised honey sold in stores may contain corn syrup or other artificial sweeteners, which can be detrimental to diabetics. It also lacks the pollen, antioxidants, and enzymes that raw honey contains.

All honey sold in stores has been cooked to extremely high temperatures before being packed. Honey should not be purchased from a store. Purchase honey from beekeepers who sell natural honey straight from the hive. It’s best if you eat it raw, not cooked.

So dont mix warm water and honey together!
