Nothing beats coming home to a soft, inviting bed stacked with plush pillows at the end of a long and stressful day.

However, while pillows provide us with unparalleled comfort, they can also cause serious harm to our bodies. An old pillow not only affects the quality of your sleep but can also harm the structure of your spine and organs. Continue reading to learn how a faulty pillow could be the source of your sleeping problems.

Pain

Pillows, despite being a simple invention, play an important role in our overall health. The wrong pillow can affect the support of your head, neck, and back while you sleep. Your spine will be completely out of alignment if you use a pillow that is too flat or fluffy. This misalignment will most likely cause neck stiffness and overall back pain.

Sleep Deprivation

Readjusting your pillow on a regular basis becomes a major annoyance to a person’s sleeping schedule. Tossing and turning throughout the night makes it difficult for your brain to relax, resulting in extreme fatigue the next morning. Fold your pillow in half and try it. It’s probably time for a new one if it doesn’t straighten back out.

Allergies

Try switching your pillow if you’ve recently experienced allergy flare-ups and can’t seem to figure out what’s causing them. Dust mites are attracted to pillows over time, which is a common cause of asthmatic symptoms. Buying a new pillow ensures that the inside of the pillow is clean.

If you sleep on your side or back, you’ll probably need a firm pillow to keep your head and spine aligned. A thin, soft pillow is recommended for stomach sleepers. If you have a tendency to overheat at night, our climate-control fabric is for you.
